About Woodlands Small Wildlife Rescue

Hello, my name is Laura and i am the founder of Woodlands Small Wildlife Rescue.  Growing up my family owned many animals so i have always had a big interest in them. At the age of 14 i started working with wildlife at a rescue centre and have since been to college, gained qualifications and completed several courses. I have gained valuable experience with a whole range of species and have worked in many animal establishments throughout the years. I decided to open Woodlands Small Wildlife Rescue at the age of 31 in 2022 and have continued to strengthen in knowledge and experience, building valuable relationships with many different rehabbers and have made many good friends along the way.

My team and i have a passion for helping animals in need. We are committed to providing the best possible care for every animal that comes through our doors. Every year we rescue hundreds of animals. The running costs can be anything from £20 -£100 a week. In the spring an summer months our funds are heavily spent on live foods for the babies. In the winter months funds go mostly on bedding materials and heating bills. Other things our funds go on are vets bills, building materials and equipment. We receive no government funding and rely solely on my part time job, our followers and the public for support and donations.

Animal welfare is our top priority and our close-knit team work tirelessly to ensure that each animal receives the best possible treatment and care. To do this we work closely with vets and many rehabbers across the country. Sharing knowledge, advice and supporting each other.

We offer sanctuary for those animals who can no longer be cared for by their owners and do our best to support them and rehome where possible. We also work with many pet sites to help re-unite lost pets with their owners.

We are passionate about helping not only our wildlife but our community too. Every month we help spread awareness for a local charity or rescue and find ways to support them. We look forward to continuing to make a positive impact on many lives of people and wildlife in need.
